This is by far my new favorite strain. It tastes delicious almost like a woody vanilla with sort of sweet undertone. The smoke was a little harsh at first but it mellowed out after a few hits. The smell is really strong and has a sweet vanillaish earthy smell. The nugs are nice and dense and sticky and soft when its ground and when u crack them open there's so many crystals it looks like diamonds in your bud <3 The high comes on quick and makes you forget all your worries. Probably the best smoke for depression and anxiety. I was so happy and talkative when usually I'm sort of antisocial. This bud kept a smile on my face and kept me giggling. The high lasts a pretty decent amount of time too. Only downside was bad dry eye but nothing visine didn't fix. Munchies were there but not insane. Probably the only bud I'll give 5 stars : )
The one, the only. Often imitated but never duplicated, this has become notorious for good reason. So many guesses as to the lineage but imo id say something along the lines of Skunk (think RKS), Thai, Afghani (some type of hashplant?) or a mix of them. The full genetics we still don't know but Josh D and some others have come forward telling the tale of how she ended up in cali from florida and how it fell into the hands of b real and others in the hollywood circle in the late 90s (theogkushstory). OG does not mean ocean grown, if anything it means original but in the end it doesn't matter because it wont change what she is, its only a name. Whether its tahoe, ghost, sfv, hells angels, s.a.c , diablo, fire, legend, true, platinum etc. they are all some amazing genetics. Deep funky flavors of fuel, pine, redwoods, citrus, fresh tennis balls, wet dog, burnt popcorn, new rubber bands, and other weird thiols and terpene profiles are found here in great nuance. I believe this to be the reason, along with the high tolerance threshold, why the effects appeal to all sorts of people's endocannabinoid systems. (I use it mainly for anxiety and it absolutely helps with digestive issues) This remains a classic and even though i hope it stays that way, because she works so well it keeps a lot of us from trying something new, or even breeding with something new.
After a 1.5 year dry spell, I decided to microdose my way into smoking again for the many benefits offered both physical and mental. Bud of choice? OG Kush. And boy, I was not disappointed.
I took one hit and immediately felt happy and balanced, like a weight had been lifted. I immediately became productive and happily took on the chores I had been avoiding. After about 30 minutes, I took another hit and experienced a mild, but beautiful high, which is all I was looking for. I went outside and did some yard work, laid in the sun- all while experiencing the most peaceful euphoria I had felt in awhile. I can honestly say it was a truly moving experience. This strain is absolutely flawless in giving you the perfect balance of sativa/indica without any racy thoughts or uncomfortable sensations. This strain is a must try.
I've experienced both the light effects and being absolutely sent to a different planet with this strain. Highly recommend it.
New smoker here, so don't have a lot to compare it with apart from the first time I got high, which was at friend's place with an unknown strain that got us completely blazed. I have since smoked a handful of times by myself and it's all been with OG Kush. I've experienced both the light effects and being absolutely sent to a different planet. In my experience, at a lower dosage, this strain mostly just leaves you feeling very relaxed and immensely euphoric, which is a very cosy, calming and stress-relieving sensation that really makes your problems disappear for a while. At a moderate dosage I found that the visual distortions didn't increase too much from being slight amplifications of the environment, meaning colours becoming more vibrant and movement seeming more fluid, but the moderate level of being high on this strain consistently gave me the sensation of an electric, sparking buzz moving up and down my back, creating the very pleasant illusion of being massaged. At a very high dosage though, this strain really started to show its true colours. Visual distortions of a very extreme degree, not only amplifying the environment, but seemingly drastically changing it. Immensely increased pareidolia, making any subject in focus become lifelike and animated and also an extreme level of creativity, creating a feeling of tapping into an outer, flowing stream of concepts and ideas and being able to capture them. At a high level of high, OG Kush also made me extremely aroused, making already very pleasurable sensations even more intense.
KEEP IN MIND: Though I do recommend OG Kush and it's high, for me there were some caveats when smoking it at a very high dosage relative to my tolerance. I smoked a medium-sized joint around 2:00PM during the day, smoking the joint down to a roach in just under an hour, yet the high lasted 4 hours of immersive, psychoactive effects, another 4 hours of strong bodily sensations and then it came back around for a second wave that took me to a moderate level of high again! This second wave lasted until I fell asleep around 1:00AM, meaning the high lasted me in total around 12 hours. But wait, there's more. When I woke up, I did still feel a very slight sensation of relaxation, but an hour later, when it was time to go to school, an extreme episode of paranoia kicked in. I am in general very paranoid and overthinking, so that might have had something to do with it, but I had to stay very vigilant and assertive over my own mind to not let myself get dragged down into some dark, scared depths. It didn't help that the train was jam-packed making me feel claustrophobic, or the that I didn't have classes with my friends that day, it just made feel very stressed and alone. This whole episode lasted about 2-3 hours until I all by myself overcame the paranoia and eventually made it cease. While the actual episode of anxiousness was very unpleasant and scary, overcoming it and walking out into fresh air after my first class having defeated it, made me feel like a champion.
TL;DR
New smoker, but have experienced all levels of high with OG Kush.
Low dosages are numbing, relaxing and serene.
Moderate dosages are the same, but with a greater bodily intensity.
High dosages are very immersive, intense and fun!
The trip itself lasted 12+ hours, with two waves of a high.
At low dosages it always took me 20-30 minutes to sense any effect, but at a high dosage the effects hit me hard already after just 10 minutes!
The main high felt like it went from 100% THC to 80% THC, very entertaining visually and the bodily sensations were fantastic too.
Best strain I've ever had. Could not stop giggling and I was still functional. Very fun strain
The smell is classic; woodsy, herbal and fresh. Not the most overpowering bouquet but that just adds to the pleasantness of this flower.
The smoke is heavy and thick and will make you cough at least a little bit, even for the veteran toker. The taste largely mirrors the smell, woodsy and herbal.
Effects are quick and happy. I felt very very uplifted and rather euphoric. A lot of energy, racing thoughts and an ever-present smile which won't leave your face for a long time.
No fancy name, just an excellent sativa high that I love.
This strain is a great choice for any physical activity and/or just shooting the shit with friends or strangers whatever the case may be.
Smoke it, enjoy it and pass it on.
My No.1 strain for nighttime relief from MS! Kicks me in the pants and sends my off for a great nights sleep!
Very calming. Makes you happy and relaxed. I was surprised by how powerful of a body high it gave - you really start to tingle all over.
