Like a bag full of sugar, this strain is covered in crystals.
I recently purchased a lovely roor glass bong (well worth the money) and decided i would try something new, and i tried the legendary leaf it is amazing!!! After my 2nd bowl i started sinking into the couch and then i laughed for a while, and finished off as a struggle to hold my eye-lids up. I would recomend this to anyone who has sleeping problems or under any pain or anxiety this will help alot.
This strain was extremely popular in my region when I was in high school in the very late 90s and early 2000s. Being in far Northern Illinois, this could be grown both indoors and outdoors and often was. The outdoor plants had some of the most insane vigor I have ever seen. I am not sure if that type of genetics exist anymore. This is just some real backbone/building block full indica stuff. I always thought it was called "Maple Leaf Indica" because the strain originated in Canada, but it looks as if that was not the case.
This was homegrown and was basically a staple grow for my area. I am not sure if the version in my area was the exact same or not... old heads like me will remember the days when it was common for your area to have its own crosses. Essentially they would take a dutch plant and cross it with something local, so that was possible but I know these genes were in the mix. I knew two separate people that grew it but really didn't know anything about that stuff at the time. It would have been cool to do a pheno hunt with this stuff.
It did have a sweet and almost honey smell. Bubble hash from this stuff was lovely. Scissor hash was delightful as well. When grown outdoors, these plants are short and stout. They were very easy to hide and I did see some people get pretty greedy with the size of the grows.
Indoor it was more finicky to grow, but still pretty hardy and had nice vigor. Smell stayed low and this wasn't a "loud" strain by any means (not that the term "loud" was used to describe smell back when this was around).
Looking back on it, this cultivar or at least the cuts that were in my area were likely full of CBDs. People were seeking out specific cuts without even knowing exactly what they were looking for. This stuff would kill anxiety at low doses and zonk you out at higher doses. It was perfect. I actually really enjoyed low doses before school. I have ADD with occasional anxiety and depression and this stuff helped big time.
At parties, it would make us just laugh and laugh. It was a real narcotic stone. The best was the outdoor, I have so many fond memories of drinking some shitty beer at a house party during Christmas break enjoying some of that years crop. It would just turn everybody into big goofballs. Just that perfect narcotic goofball stone. That same stone I tend to find more often in hashes and extracts.
I'd love to try this stuff again but I doubt I ever do. It is hard to believe that I haven't had this stuff in 15 years or so (maybe ever more). It is fun to imagine some old grower in my old hometown still holding down the genetics that were around back in the day but I doubt it. I have noticed a few Midwest specific cuts in the Illinois dispensaries but nothing mind blowing.
It was one of the first cultivars I feel in love with because I have always been a big Indica guy and was a really big one at that time. Today far better options exist, but it would be fun for old times sake. I doubt this one even still exists, especially the cuts that I enjoyed. This one is going to remain a strictly underground memory for me, but maybe one day I will get to go visit the basement or riverside.
Alright, thanks for the trip down memory lane. If you run across this cultivar, consider yourself blessed and enjoy it for what it is. An example of an old school classic. This is what people really began to breed with basically.

A good indica it really helps with sleep also it is sedative and you will feel so relaxed that you won't get up hahaha. The smell of this strain is pretty sweet and the flavor is sweet.
I smoked this strain in vaporizer and pipe, i think that is better to smoke it in vaporizer because it kicks better and last longer.
Greetings from Mexico :)
Wow, most sedating strain I've ever smoked! Love my indicas, and this one is at the top of the list. Great for stress, anxiety, and depression. Feels like you are melting, you get so relaxed you almost instantly fall asleep. Tried it in an elementextractions live resin cartidge I picked up from the dispensary in Michigan, very impressed.
DANK!!! Strong aroma, beautiful to look at, covered in white crystals. Smokes well and tastes fine but causes major cottonmouth. After a single bowl my whole body felt relaxed, after 3 bowls I melted into the couch. Perfect for pain relief of any kind, insomnia, and even anxiety!
I have a lot of tolerance and this gave me an extremely vibrant but relaxing high.

Solid strain! mixed it with another indica and knocked me out! Also very nice taste to it
Like limonene mentioned I came along at the same time but on the other side of the country in the southeast coastal plains of ga. This strain was available when I was in my college years and I was given a huge bud full of seeds that I started to mess around with. My group of buddies were the only ones who I shared it with. It lovingly became known as the idk. Dope. As in "dude what's so funny" and a very red eyed permagrinned chick or guy would say "I don't know" so very fun to smoke. 20 plus years , somehow I have been able to keep her from disappearing. It makes my little lady smile and snore. Somehow most stuff makes me want to go for a hike , read or write. Fly fishing is off the chain. Somehow it takes me back to the days of Real rock and roll , concert halls, and a much simpler place in Time. I dig it.
