Harlequin is awesome for me. As someone with PTSD, major depression, seasonal affective disorder and anxiety; this strain is an absolute game changer for me. I am far less hyper vigilant and have more energy when I use this strain. It’s also very good for pain and helps me with some nausea. Not every strain works well for everyone, but this strain has impressed me from the moment I first tried it.
I’ve been avoiding bud since I had to stop smoking in order to keep my CDL Drivers License in 1992. If it wasn’t a great Teamster job I probably would have just switched jobs, but trying to time the “Drug testing van” became too stressful. Now that I’m retired and disabled, I tried smoking again but the weed nowadays is so much stronger than back then from 1972-1992, I got so paranoid that I hated it. That is until I found HARLEQUIN! I smoked a half a J after starting out with one hit. It was like I was teleported back to 1978 and in HS. This strain is the ONLY strain I can say with 100% certainty will bring us older beings that had given up hope of that dream of retiring, kicking back and getting high. I’m in Heaven while still on earth…Thank you God for making my dream retirement years come true. Take my word for it to people like me…..Go for it. You will love it with no regrets!!!

Finally this wonderful strain showed up in the retail weed world in Washington state. The ratio was 5.75% thc and roughly 11% cbd. This particular cut did wonders on my knee and shoulder post op scar tissue, arthritis and general aches. It did possess a good enough sativa buzz to energize; which I assume is great for retail. All and all great strain!
Great strain for anxiety and PTSD. Zero paranoid feeling. I am not a big smoker due to the paranoia, I have gotten in the past. Leafy has really helped me find strains that work for me.
This one is definitely beyond helpful to me. This is the one I vape all day long until I vape my night time one. I have fibromyalgia and it keeps my inflammation down. My daily pain level went from 7-8 to a 3-4. My doctor was so impressed with how loose my back has become. My dispensary has a 1:1 ratio and a 2:1 ratio- I vape the 1:1 ratio. I can function on this all day long without becoming drowsy. It’s great, my pain hasn’t been this low in - literally I cannot remember how long. It doesn’t give a body high or a head high for me. It just takes the pain away. It’s perfect for me. The only thing is sometimes I get a slight headache from taking it towards the end of the day, but my pain level is so low in the rest of my body I don’t even care.
Some good recommendations pointed me to this medicine. I noticed from reviews on leafly that when a plant treats anxiety and depression I can be left with anxiety rather easily as a side-effect. This kept my head clear and in the game and removed that weight on my chest without leaving me anxious. It feels designed to handle anxiety for my body and affects very little else. I took up more space in the world as I relaxed. I'm not sure how well it would treat depression since it didn't make me overly happy but not being anxious at all has to be a positive thing for depression sufferers too.
I started using this strain for medical purposes. Some of my medical history includes: major depression, anxiety, possible PTSD, mood disorder, sarcoidosis, hepatitis C (blood transfusion/birth), asthma, diverticulosis, possible Lupus, degenerative disc and joint disease, chronic widespread pain, inflammation, and swelling. I have tried almost every medication under the sun. Doctors have been at a loss on how to treat my symptoms. Marijuana typically just makes me feel weird. I don’t like feeling “high”. However, THIS STRAIN IS A GODSEND!!!!!! I do not feel high. I just feel BETTER! I’m in my 30s and usually feel like I’m dying! So THIS IS A BIG DEAL FOR ME! The taste is fantastic and smell is awesome! No skunky stench! No harsh hits either! Did not hurt my lungs or even make me cough....AND I HAVE 2 LUNG DISEASES! Quickly relaxes muscles, melts away pain (even severe menstrual cramps)! Almost NO SIDE EFFECTS! No extreme increased appetite. No dry eyes. No couch-lock. This is the best medicine I have ever taken! I no longer need prescription opiates. Thank you so much.
This is, for me, a nearly perfect strain. The main issue for which I medicate with cannabis is chronic pain. A lot of strains, especially heavy indicas, will help me ignore the pain. Some other strains will transmute some of the pain, making me sense it as more of a tingling sensation. Very few strains actually get rid of the pain altogether. Harlequin is one of those strains. Using surprisingly little, my neck, back, joint, and arthritic pain just melt away for a bit. My muscles relax more than with harlequin they ever do when I take my prescribed muscle relaxant every night. As a high-CBD strain and a sativa-dominant hybrid, the head high, if there is any (more likely with concentrates than flower, in my experience) is light, clear, and energetic - I can still work without feeling at all impaired. Between the relaxed muscles and the reduced pain, I'm much more flexible and mobile than usual. It makes it easier to do chores around the house and work on various physically-intensive projects. While I'm loose, limber, and not hurting, my body tends to naturally re-align itself a bit better. By halfway through my high, my I'll often notice that my posture has gotten a bit better and my spine a bit straighter than is usually possible given how tense and spastic my muscles can get. Doing some stretching or yoga helps enhances this re-alignment (for lack of a better term). And the positive changes carry on for a few hours to a day after my high ends, before things start tensing up again.
This is a medicinal strain. I'd say it definitely has some recreational value, especially if you're sensitive to THC and tend to get anxious on cannabis (like me), if you use enough of it, but with all the CBD, it'd probably take some work to get blasted from this stuff. But mostly, it just does a remarkably job of making me and those I've shared it with functional and pain-free for a little while. If I'm using it at night for whatever reason, it'll absolutely mess with my sleep if I've used it within a couple hours of going to bed. So that's maybe something to watch out for. If only I could find a sleepy indica that worked this well for my pain.
My one "complaint" is that this stuff is ridiculously difficult to find, at least out where I live.
