Smoking some of this made me feel euphoric and uplifted. I had a headache and this strain helped with that by making head feel lighter. if my headache felt like waves of water splashing against rough rocks, smoking Colombian Gold made my head feel like a serene beach with waves slowing washing over sand, serene, at peace and harmony. A calm and relaxing experience for when I needed it most.
Another old timer here, Dead Head - we were able to get Columbian gold in 1969- 70 in the SF Bay Area - it was certainly one of the finest weed of the times...it is sorely missed. I would hope that it could be grown again in its native environment....the other strain of that era, fondly know to go well with acid and the Dead, was a sweet green Oaxacan, and we need to add Michoacan as another distinct Sativa from that era...
I smoked a lot of Columbia Gold in the later part of the 1970s. It was a pressed pot sometimes. It had seeds. It mastered rather Pitney with good lung expansion. It got us all good and high and nobody weirded out or went to the ER. I paid $40--$50 an oz for it. For a good run everybody smoked Columbia Gold.

I totally agree with oldtoker60, his is the only review that was spot on. Tastes like blonde Lebanese hash and would expand so much. Just a few hits and you were stoned for a good four hours. I lived in Florida then back on the day (70's) and we rarely got the real gold. The stuff we got had tight slender buds that were truly gold in color. Amazing stuff. The only thing that was even close was Panama lredand it was no way near the buzz. The five star rating is for the original.
Wow! My new favorite Sativa! I can only use sativas that do not give me anxiety. I was super focused and not anxious at all, kept my anxiety away and focused enough that my ADD was non existent. Great strain.
Okay, 70’s kid here. My first smoke out was CG. My then dealer knew I was going through some shit at that time and suggested I try using cannabis as medicine. Best thing to ever happen to this then an 11 yr old kid.
Not only could I function, but the anxiety and stressors at that time were suppressed.
The flavor that I recall was earthy, yet floral. The sativa side helped me get through my days, yet sedated enough to function. I remember that high tho.
Yes, gold in color and tended to have quite a few seeds. Some of the pics below just don’t match up to the quality CG I was getting. Anyway, if someone had a sack of that today, I’d acquire some to to back in time.

Recently had this, it smelled like just like tea and was probably hands down one of my new favorite strains and strains to defiantly smoke.
