A quality high worthy of it's legacy name. In the 1970's this strain dropped off the radar but it is alive and healthy at Timberland Wellness Center. The buds are clearly old school being smaller than almost anything else I see today. That doesn't take away from the quality one bit. With a sweet taste I recommend packinf your bowl light and making every hit a green hit.
Obtained a 1/2 oz of Southern Oregon grown Acapulco Gold. The medium sized sticky buds were light green with yellow hairs and loaded with trichomes. In this case, the new strain from 2016 was better than the old school Acapulco Gold from the 1970s!! My bud was very potent !~ 28% THC, Sativa Dominant with an intense trippy happy high. The taste and high was similar to the 1970s version but better!!! Definitely longer lasting (5+ hours) than the 1970s Acapulco Gold. The hard to obtain 1970s version was grown in Guerrero Mexico and was completely gold in color - it had very few seeds. The high was psychedelic - vivid colors , sativa based and not as intense. However, it was a more enjoyable , social type of high - enhanced communication with friends. In addition, the taste was very smooth and earthy. Both versions were speedy, giggly, and happy. The old version provided a more functional high while the new version was intense, uplifting ,and spiritual. In summary, the new version had a high similar to the old version but was much more intense and overwhelming - it was wonderful. Would buy again ..
FANTASTIC! Definitely in my top 3 strains I've tried so far. Incredible cerebral high with a feeling of euphoria. This helped my pain and made me happy, so you can't beat that combo. I have a high tolerance, so when they told me to be careful because it's very strong I just brushed it off. THEY WERE RIGHT!! Holy smokes is this stuff strong! It will make you pretty dizzy if you overdo it so be careful. Unfortunately I was only lucky enough to buy this once, but I'll be on the lookout to grab it up next chance I get. You should definitely give it a try if you're lucky enough to find some.
Makes me feel like honey, that’s the best way I can describe it
After growing for the first time I see where the name comes from. The hairs were an thick, deep bright shade of gold unique from other stains I’ve grown. Cured bud aroma is amazing that remind me of toffee, caramel with a twinge of pine. The buzz was clean, I try not to over-do it and its incredible. Gonna keep this one going just for its quality and not for the yield which was nothing the brag about, but worth the effort.
I’ve smoked off and on for 30 years. I quit about 13 years ago due to having kids. Something very traumatic happened since then, giving me PTSD. I tried rx drugs, therapy and even a Stellate Ganglion Block trying to alleviate the startle, paranoid anxiety, and insomnia. Nothing worked until I got my medical card. I enjoy both daytime and nighttime strains. I also use CBD.
I have been looking for Acapulco Gold since I saw Cheech and Chong mentioned it. I finally found it! Grassroots cannabis grower in IL. Opened it up. There are gold hairs. Bright green foliage. Took a whiff… smells like burnt toffee. This is definitely it!
Very smooth inhale and exhale. I’m using a pinch hitter pipe with flower. I went low and slow to achieve my preferred level. I’d say I feel clear headed but also high af! I’m not sure I feel energized. But more mellowed out.
I could totally see myself enjoying this on a crowded beach without a care in the world. That’s big for me to even consider a crowd. I will try it in other environments to see how it affects me. But rn I feel peaceful
this strain helped me with my sensory overloads from autism. freedom from a disability even temporarily is really wonderful.
Incredible. I felt so high but so “clear” at the same time. Super versatile as well.
