I'm from Mexico and the quality of weed is generally bad (short lasting effects, need a few more tokes to equalize the potency of modern strains, have seeds and give headaches and slight hangovers) but they do have very good sativa properties: Always give you the giggles, sort of energetic, very psychedelic.
I once came across this strain at a beach in Michoacan, the first time I saw weed without seeds and it was also light brown-golden, very resinous and strong woody smell like licking wood, def. not a bad flavor and an interesting one, it doesn't smell like weed at all.
The only Mexican strain that is very long lasting, super spacey, you can't do work with this stuff and use it in a private place or nature, not in the streets since you will look like a mad man, the opposite of clear-headed. It's psychedelic similar to shrooms, you feel echoes in your head, it is super fun and also gives you the giggles big time.
Everybody should try this, I've seen that Barney's sell them but I would be really pissed if it was not the same strain and just some imitation, can't tell, I haven't tried it.
This strains should become more popular and be mixed with other strains, it surprises me how not popular it is nowadays. This thing is a must!
This was the first weed I ever smoked in 1966. I had it several times, an oz at a time over the following couple of years. This gave me cramps in my cheeks every time from excessive laughter. Time was really warped and short term memory took a leave of absence. It was reported by others that I was squint eyed. Nearing the end of the high I felt emotionally exhausted and extremely tired. This is simply the best.
Instant favorite! Has plenty of gold hairs to go along with the brightly colored bud. Carries a heavy tropical smell and taste. Very fast kick in and lasts more than 2 hours. Nice and smooth pleasant high, very uplifting great to try with friends. Without a doubt on my re-smoke list.
The late 1970s through the late 1980s we lived on the Gulf Coast of Florida. The Acapulco Gold that was very carefully shipped in from Mexico to a dear friend of the family was most certainly truly golden in color, earthy and the high was tremendous! It was fresh. shipped and imported with care.
The Acapulco Gold we would all be anxiously waiting for back then was no joke. To this day I've come across very few modern strains as powerful and euphoric. It was damn near spiritual if you smoked enough. It didn't take very much at all! and the high lasted for HOURS.
One of my absolute favorite strains ever. Those who had the opportunity to try it fresh and shipped very carefully would agree I'm sure.
If you can get your hands on the real deal cherish it!
I remember my older brother raving about the legendary Acupulco Gold in the 1980s when I was just a kid and Nancy Reagan had me brainwashed to "Just Say No!" Well, I finally got my first taste of Acupulco Gold and it was wonderful. The high was fun, focused, social, talkative and energized. Felt like I could smoke this and then talk to a cop (if I had to) and not worry a bit. However, the high was short lived. It tapered off fast. Kind of like Nancy's slogan. But this is one sativa you can smoke all day/night and won't get paranoid. There were mild munchies and hunger, but manageable. This is a good one if you want to smoke at a party, concert or movie would like to drive home safely and in control a few hours later. Didn't make me sleepy.
This was my first try since getting my med. card. I rang in 2024 completely happy and singing. I almost cried because I felt good. I suffer from fatigue from depression and anxiety. For a few hours, this allowed me to be happy which is what I'm looking forward to in the new year!
this is the original strain of "loud" that I know of. im 34 in philly & I remember my uncle always talking about this back in the 80s. all the OGs criticize the new SD's & kushes & say "u youngins dont know num bout that alcapoco gold we used to smoke in the 60s - 70s". glad to see it has similar reviews here
This "sabrosura" makes you feel so chingon. Definitely before going to party in Cancún or something like that... For me, one of the legendary.
