I've given this place quite a few chances and every time I am disappointed. Today was the last straw and thats what brings me here today.
There are only a couple of locations near me that I can easily get to. Zen Leaf in Sharon is one of them. The product they sell isn't the highest quality, but they make up for it with variety. Based on product alone they are okay. The front desk personnel (and previous security guards) have always been very friendly and welcoming.
But the moment you walk through those locked doors, everyone's attitude changes. Never had a friendly interaction with anyone. On average I will have to wait 10 minutes in line. There has been only 1 out of 6 times that I didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes. As a medical card holder, that's always been tough. Standin for long periods of time does not feel good on my legs. It is especially painful to watch recreational customers come in and leave before Ive even talked with anyone. Having more staff for Recreational than Medical is wrong in a lot of ways and I can't help but think that this place puts profit ahead of basic compassion.
As you stand there you will see groups of people coming and going out of the back room, not just people going back and forth with product. Unsure why there is such a huge staff in the back when there are long lines in the front. Other dispensaries I go to have only a couple of people working and I've never had these issues.
When you finally get to see someone, you don't know what kind of mood they are going to be in. To be fair only 3 out of the 6 times Ive been, I've had a bad experience with the person helping me. In the first bad interaction, the person seemed to mock me when I asked for recommendations for a strain that would be uplifting. They laughed and then it was followed by a long silence and then "I don't know mannn". The second time the person got very short and seemed angry when I asked if they could add my military discount. It was honestly a very strange interaction that I still don't understand fully to this day.
The last time I went, it was almost exactly a 10-minute wait. Again, to be fair, I was in a hurry and my feet hurt, so I wasn't in a good mood. I got up to the counter and said that I had put in a preorder the day prior. He informed me that they cancel all orders if they are not picked up that day.
SIDE NOTE: Terrible policy for a place that serves medical patients.
I was frustrated at what he said because I had already waited and now things were going to take even longer. I let out a frustrated sigh and stated that that was news to me as other places I put orders into at least wait 24 hours, which it had not been. So I picked up the tablet to begin selecting my order again. After a second I put the tablet down because I wanted to check the iheartjane app to see if it had a history of my order so that I could just go off that. When I put the tablet down, the man with a Giorgio A. Tsoukalos style haircut said in a very condescending tone, "You could just let us help you?"
Admittedly, I lost my cool at that point and let out "Hah, yeah Im done with this place." and he followed up with "Cool, whatever". I left immediately after that. This incident by itself is small fries. But when added in with everything else I've experienced at this place, there's a clear pattern of mismanagement and they should be held accountable.
