The Botanist - Montville (Med)

I absolutely LOVE this dispensary and the staff, not to mention the 20% off sales that they've been running 2-3x/month to promote the different companies are seriously incredible. They're upcoming sale is even offering an eighth of prerolled cones for ONLY $1 if you buy $120 worth at the sale. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and caring, and I was delightfully surprised to see my favorite pharmacist from my old regular pharmacy was now working there! The bud and waxes these companies have been putting out so far are absolutely mind-blowing considering that just 1 year ago there were only 3 strains available in the entire state. The only things I don't like about it, which are completely beyond the control of the individual dispensary, is that although they do a great job with the promotions at offsetting this, the regular prices for extracts are simply too high sometimes even double the price for the the same quality wax as dispensaries in other states offer, and all of the "Medicinalized" renames for different strains makes things confusing as a customer who's used to asking/knowing strains and their effects based on their common name, and often, leafly profile. However, as I said, both of these factors are completely beyond the individual dispensary's control, and they do a FANTASTIC job compensating: if you ask them to they'll actually write out the "street names" on your medication bottle, and of course I mentioned the sales, right? ;)

I received my temporary certificate a few weeks ago, and visited Thames Valley Alternative on July 21st for my initial consultation. I feel bad because I cannot recall the pharmacist's name who gave me the consult- but she was amazing- knowledgeable, friendly, and very chill so I felt comfortable. I have PTSD and Chronic Lyme disease along with multiple tick infections so I feel anxious all the time, but she made me feel comfortable and the visit was fantastic. We went over a few strains that I felt were in line with my symptoms and I was very pleased with the result. I felt best with HH Red, which is a high CBD low thc strain. I slept for the 1st time the entire night w/o waking up- first time that has happened in 5 years. I also tried "Flavica" and "Citron"- but of which are moderate and high thc and I felt good with these too- less depression and more energy. All in all I feel very happy that I am now in the Thames Valley Alternative "family" and look forward to my monthly visits. It is a 40 mile drive from eastern CT- but well worth it. This is a great place- very clean, the staff are all extremely accommodating and friendly. If I could give 10 stars I would- oh what the heck!! 10 Stars!!!!

Laura and the staff are very congenial and helpful. They are doing the best they can with what the growers offer. I started opening day. I HAVE NO NEGATIVE CRITICISM HERE. There is a room for private consultations with the pharmacist, which I have used and pleased with. With so many strains bred, it can be hard to remember one from the next. They have been trained in pharmaceutical medicines by the big Pharma Corps. Their knowledge of alternate medicines may not be as in depth. They must rely on the producers for product and are bound by the high prices producers set. I see only forward advancement as their experience grows. My COMPLAINT is that product is not hermetically sealed and dries out - that fault lies with the producers or state. KNOW THIS is a new venture, all the way around, state, producers and the dispensary, so there is a learning curve. BE RESPONSIBLE - Go online, educate youself about the strains and their resultant effects. Then visit with an educated mind.

I haven't had the pleasure of my orientation yet but from just going in there to make sure I did all the steps right to be registered the staff was amazing I can't wait to get my life back with their amazing uplifting budtenders and all there staff everyone was welcoming with open arms and willing to give me any and all help I needed to finish my process for treatment for I am so excited and greatful for everything they are going to help me with I will forever be greatful for these amazing pharmacists and the willingness and ability to help change people's lives thank you.

I obtained my MM card in September 2017. I found the staff extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive. It's a 45 min drive from Northeast CT but I don't mind. The quality and variety of flower is amazing and they have edibles as well as Oils. Fantastic owners too!! Order online on their website before going and also ask for an appointment and there is no wait

Incredibly knowledgeable and patient staff. Always very easy to either walk-in, make an appointment for later that day, or order online for in-store pick-up. Comprehensive menu with a variety of oils, edibles, flowers, and external lotions.
