I went July 1, 2015 at 11:00am and this place was PACKED with Portlanders! It was challenging getting to the counter to even look at a menu, let alone find a free bud tender to help me. After I got home with my purchases, I noticed several of the strains that were recommended to me were really OLD (harvested over 9 months prior). Were they trying to get rid of inventory on an unsuspecting newbie? Who knows. Caveat emptor.

They have countless varieties and Staffs would help you out in Selection too.
It is fascinating to walk in and buy marijuana legally. They have a good selection of bud and herbs to choose from.

I come here frequently, their website has their menu (and it's updated as the stock changes out)
I love this place, and they're located by a bunch of awesome restaurants. Parking can become a bit of a pain though, and it's a bit dangerous in that area when there's ice (sloped hill.)
Upsides:
- Large variety and selection, their stock cycles quite often
- Affordable and reasonable prices, you'll have difficulty finding something out of your budget
- Carry the most underpriced vaporizers I've come across (including online) and I have no idea why.
- They put in a lot of effort to keep things moving smoothly. They bring out more budtenders to help when it's busy, and will set up little mini "express" lanes to order.
- Includes taxes in their prices
- Friendly staff
- $/gr amount is cheaper than all of the other nearby options, (by far in some cases.)
Downsides:
- With all the growers they carry, and how often they cycle their stock, sometimes the budtenders won't be as familiar with some of the current products.
- It can get very busy. Their budtenders are normally pretty quick, but I've seen this place pretty packed. Didn't dare go in, so I can't comment on how that'd work out.
- Sometimes they can sell out of something within a day or two of getting it in. Mostly a downside because I've come across some awesome stuff there before, but didn't return in time to pick up more.
- Most of their dry herb is sold in 2+ grams, so the only consumable they have under $10 is generally an edible. (Still cheap though!)

Overall, I'd highly suggest main st mj. Their east vancouver location was a little smaller (in square footage) but also quite friendly, and appeared to have the same stock & price.

This place is awesome. They have a lot of really knowledgeable staff. And they're dog friendly!! I love nearby and come in pretty frequently. I'm always happy with the service.

NOISY. Some good buds at average prices, lots of cheap, no so good weed. Great if you are on a budget. Budtenders are mostly apathetic 20-somethings. Too bad, they used have a nice cross section of fairly knowledgeable folks on staff.

I was extremely excited to try out the Critical+, but when I got home, I pulled out 2 g of S.A.G.E.. Apparently the girl working gave me the wrong strain without either of us noticing. I called, left a voicemail, and still have not received a reply. Since it was 50 dollars for 2 grams (outrageously expensive), I expected some sort of condolence from them.

I've been to this store several times and there common themes aren't what I like in my dispensaries. The flower is prepackaged so that you can't see or smell it and is typically old and dry. The price has been good but I prefer quality buds kept in good condition. Second I find that the staff doesn't know anything about the products they are selling. I've asked probably 10 of their bud tenders what they thought of a strain and they had no answers. The regular answer I would get is "I don't smoke flower, only concentrates." Well fine, that's great, but you work serving flower so maybe you should know a little bit about it? Lastly there is a particular tender there (bald dude with a beard) who is extremely rude and pushy (not just to me either but to the three customers he served before me).

A warning to fellow consumers. If you are buying shatter from your local dispensary do yourself(And your Dispensary), a favor and stay away from any shatter produced by Grow State(The label on the package says Altered State Concentrate). They use plastic screw top Carafes with no parchment on the bottom, just straight into the plastic. I was in my local shop the other day looking for some quality shatter and was recommended the Old Man Jack from Grow State, the man at the counter next to me, told me straight up to avoid it as it came in plastic containers, but I decided to take my chances, and guess what? Not only was he right(It was in plastic screw top containers) but I got burned for $60 as one of the containers was glued shut by the shatter that was melted all in the threads, and would not even open. And the other, I got about half of the product from leaving the rest stuck to the inside of the container. I contacted Grow state and pointed out the issue, and included clear pictures of the problem. Thomas the sales guy actually seemed concerned and tried to see if something could be done, but then the owner of the company Kip called me back and was more interested in making excuses for why they use plastic instead of Glass, or Silicone. The reason given for not using silicone was the cost(.75 per container) Kip said I should go ahead and heat up the plastic(thereby releasing the toxic chemicals from the plastic into my product even at low temps.) When I told him as an Environmental Specialist I didn't think that was great advice to be giving people since even non heated plastic is known to leach dangerous chemicals, you probably shouldn't be heating it up to get your product out(He blamed my shop for not handling it right on there end and keeping it cool). I then called my local dispensary, and explained my problem. They said Kip had already called them to inquire about the situation, and they were aware and sympathetic to my problem. I petitioned that either they A) Stop Selling Grow State Products until they(Grow State) clean up there act, and package responsibly. B) Open the outside packaging of Grow States Products so that consumers can clearly see and feel if the containers are plastic. C) Have each of there bud tenders let the customer know that they have had problems with Grow State Shatter containers and they should be weary of buying them. One of the major advantages of legalization is that we are supposed to be getting a PREMIUM, SAFE, product. Plastic containers that stick to the product and leach toxic chemicals into your product(Specially if you have to heat it to get the product out) do not meet that standard. If a company cannot be bothered to spend an extra .75 cents(Which by the way would be passed on to us anyway) so we would pay $31 instead f $30, or spend $.01 for a disk of parchment to make there expensive product usable. Then you should avoid that company, as it calls into question there standards and practices regarding there most important asset, the consumer.

I LOVE this place, except one person who works here that actually left a bad taste in my mouth. They did me a solid for a truly crappy product. I appreciate that. What happened was my 20 bill accidentally partially ripped when I put it in my pocket. The guy taking my order said "no problem, we have tape." The dude who was handing me my order actually became a douche about it. In all of everyone's years in retail, when has a partially ripped bill been a problem? Are they really going to have that much attitude? I said to the two nice guys "thank you for your customer service, but not him!" Then I walked out. It's pathetic that someone has to be like that. Maybe I'll not come to this location any longer. I'm sure they don't care about one person, but my information will travel across all the social network pages I manage. I spent more in a month than many bring home in one week at this location alone. The owners need to do something about this guy. And if he's one of them, the rest need to back him out of customer face to face dealings.

Started going to this shop when they opened and up until 5 months ago. They have one of the best shops in relation to set up and customer service. However, they are unable to keep up with demand. Their supplies have been stripped down to the bare minimum and many of their Grade A concentrates went to Grade B and now Grade C (if they have it at all). They started out strong but are fizzling out. They also don't keep their menu current, don't answer emails or phones. Very disappointed with the direction they are headed, they were my favorite! Hope they figure out their growing pains.

Great product for quick and easy... If you know what you want to buy. Been there three times though, and the simplest questions will stump the staff members.... All answers seem to equate to "it'll get you high"

Had a terrible experience here. I use high cbd/low thc strains for pain and anxiety and bought a certain strain to help with that. Unfortunately they gave me a insanely high thc strain instead(I am very prone to paranoia/panic attacks when smoking high thc strains). I got home to roll a joint and try out this new strain and realized that they had given me the wrong strain. So I waited in traffic to drive back up and see if I could get the strain I had paid for. They actually expected me to pay again for the strain that I had originally ordered and wouldn't let me trade for what i had originally paid for. I lost 30 bucks for THEIR mistake. For a business that is obviously making money, the fact they wouldn't eat the cost of THEIR mistake was B.S. For people who use marijuana medicinally it seems pretty dangerous to be giving people stuff that will actually make their conditions worse. I will NEVER come here again after this experience nor will i direct my friends here. Try New Vansterdam.

Worst customer service experience, ever. They don’t care about their customers AT ALL. Unwilling to correct an incorrect order (that was their fault) and make you feel like you should just be thankful they are providing any “service” to you...Even if it is not what you actually wanted, NEEDED and had correctly ordered...I will pay the higher prices elsewhere because I guess you have to pay for kindness.

This is the coolest weed store, Washington or Ore-Gone! Just my opinion, but I think it's true.
I always get a good vibe from the people who help me.
Best thing about them, their website. It's totally up to date. I make my choices at home, then go pick it up! How much easier can it be?
I like the fact that you can get cheap stuff if necessary!

If you plan on going here to get cannabis to help relieve your symptoms from cancer, please go somewhere else. The service is horrible, and the staff seriously lacks compassion for patients. The order and pricing were wrong, and apparently they do not know how to apologize when they make mistakes.

I went around clark county to the 3 stores on the same day. I was really only impressed with the Cannabis Country Store in BG. When I went to Main Street there was nobody at the door checking ID. Admittedly I am not young, but it's the law. The store had a strong stale nicotine smell. It felt like a cheap adult shop. Prices were much higher than the other two shops. I asked the dark hair girl about organic growing information. She said that she doesn't have or know of anything other than I could go to the growers website. Both of the other stores were very knowledgeable about their products. I tried to smell one of the smellable jars and all I could smell was the varnish from the display. New Vansterdam didn't have any product out. Country Store had all of the MJ out in great jars that made smelling easy. After leaving MSM I researched the owner. He's not in favor of marijuana, and has publicly made the statement that "if people are stupid enough to buy it, I want to sell it to them". He will not be receiving my support.

Order not ready when promised, overcharged and then order was incorrect when it was finally ready. Never apologized and when commented on the poor service was told never to come back. Extremely poor customer service, you would think they would be nicer to cancer patients. Go somewhere else that values their customers and shows compassion for the sick.

I used to love this location because the prices were soooooo incredibly cheaper. Now, you couldn't drag me back.
You don't get to smell what you are buying or anything. Everything is prepackaged and dried out. I wasted so much money on something I wouldn't give away.
I will be staying far away from this Main Street. Which is sad because I liked some of the budtenders that work there.

The staff and management have really taken good care of us during this odd time. I appreciate the knowledgeable staff, decent prices, great variety of choices and exemplary safety procedures that have been taken.
I highly recommend the online ordering if you know what you want. Be sure to thank these splendiferous people and maybe tip if you can afford it!
