Sell outs. This dispensary used to be a small locally owned business until Big Cannabis came in and took over. Now everything is dummy expensive for the exact same product. Also, this company is VERANO and they’re know for multiple mold scandals and not telling the public about it.

This dispensary was really great until April 2021 when it was bought pot by one of the BIG GUYS. Now there just another Pot Shop. Now we're just another customer. Too bad. I'm leaving for another shop

They used to be awesome! GreenGate was the only Medical-Only dispensary on the north side of Chicago. I would go there all the time because the staff were amazing and the deals weren't bad. That changed when they got bought out by Verano in April 2021. If you're not aware, Verano is one of the "big guys" in the corporate cannabis business. Now they charge an extra tax for medical patients, with no forewarning. I always bring exact change, so when I found out my usual order was 3 dollars more, I had to use the ATM to withdraw more cash. Not really a big deal, but paying an extra ATM fee on top of that just felt a little annoying. It's a shame because they have one of the best budtenders in the city (shout-out to Dustin) and the rest of the staff was always really personable. I'll miss them! I have since switched to a different dispensary, and I don't regret it at all. It seems everything at GreenGate is just going more and more downhill as time goes on.
