Alternative Remedies

Tim was my budtender when I dropped into Alternative Remedies last week, and of course my stoner-ass is just getting around to writing the review... There are a few things I would like to mention about Tim and my experiences at Alternative Remedies: 1) This neighborhood dispensary has a calm, clean and cozy environment, with lots of educational posters and various helpful informational handouts to provide context for #2. 2) All the budtenders that have helped me with my purchases have been delightfully and scientifically informative, without seeming condescending or overly “bro”-y. As someone who has been to many dispensaries in many states, I have encountered a lot of different types of budtenders, but the ones at Alternative Remedies have left one of the best impressions by providing scientific, thorough and relevant information to my shopping experience. For example, I mentioned that one strain Tim presenter to me smelled like mango! And he got this bright-eyed look and told me all about the terpene “myrcene” that is found in high quantities in mangos (and hops), and of course, certain strains of cannabis. I love shit like this, and sure enough, there was a poster behind me that had even more information about terpenes that I was invited to take a picture of. 3) The products I have purchased have been of excellent quality for the price. Lately, Oregon is notorious for its affordable cannabis, and I have noticed that you often get what you pay for when it comes to “cheap” ounces. Alternative Remedies’ “cheap ounces” are, by far, of superior quality! I was pleased to hear that Tim would let me mix and match strains as well, which seems to be an increasingly rare option when it comes to purchasing flower from dispensaries. 4) I have gotten free shit more than once for asking questions and just being generally observant. This is not a tourist’s dispensary and feels like visiting a better-equipped version of your old weed dealer, so relationships matter. They are generous and true weed aficionados at Alternative Remedies, and for that reason I felt compelled to actually write a review! Thanks again <3

So I found out recently that the only place that sells fullmelt hash in the area is Alternative Remedies, so I stopped in for my first time a couple days ago. It's a smaller dispensary, with a small waiting area before going into the back where the budtender is. The back is really clean with a glass counter showing some of their products and some flower out to look at. The hash display is separate and to the left of the counter. It's cooled so the hash stays fresh and doesnt grease up. They had a nice selection of IWE as well as some amazing flower. I ended up picking out some 🔥🔥 Death Star & Candyland X Chem 91 5/6 ⭐️. The flowers were cultivated by Nelson&Co and extracted by Permaculture Solutions. Both examples are 70μ and melt amazingly into a puddle, leaving little residue in my quartz banger and is easily cleaned with a q-tip after each dab. They both taste amazing and represent their flower counterparts very well IMO. The Candy/Chem is my favorite of the two. It smells and tastes like a sweet pile of dirt soaked in fuel. I will definitely be back to grab some more. So, if you're looking for fullmelt IWE Hash in Portland, I'd definitely check out Permaculture Solutions and Alternative Remedies.

Came in for a Pax Era and the staff was courteous and knowledgeable (and not in a snobbish kind of way).

I love this dispensary people are real nice very quick service had no problems here ever couple blocks down the street from my house really convenient awesome I love it plus a good variety

Its hard to say what I was most impressed by but considering good customer service is hard to find these days lets just go with that. Damian and Tom were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. If you're a new smoker they'll help you find what you need without belittling your knowledge and if you're experienced they got a lot of great meds and good edibles that are upto the highest standards if you ask me."The brandt" edible knocked me out I couldnt even make it to 4:20 on 420! Great lounge to hang out and medicate, returning as soon as possible

All staff who work here create a very comfortable environment. If you're looking for a very chill place to medicate this is a fantastic place to stop by. I recommend Alternative Remedies - great edibles, cana-drinks, and flower.

This place is fantastic! Easy access and friendly service - great lounge and I was encouraged to take my time. The knowledgeable staff was helpful and they had awesome medibles! I will be back soon!

Love the approach here....no membership fees or door fees, no intrusive paperwork to fill out, and freebies on your first visit? Great! Picked up some Girl Scout Cookies and it was divine. Had some Bubba Kush that was above average, but the GSC takes the cake....haha. Hope everyone makes this their dispensary of choice in Foster-Powell. I have found a home here.

Great store, I'm one of the hugest fans of dog walker and I've came in at least 5 times for it... Hope they keep the same price, can't beat it and it's grade A Quality

I walked in. I am sure they had just opened. They guy behind the counter shared a dab with me saying ' mind if we do this together, i have yet to medicate this morning.' yeah i like this place.

Everyone is very helpful and knowlegable. The deals are great and flower is always fresh.
