Our all-natural, sun grown techniques combine traditional and modern methods to produce connoisseur-grade Cannabis with minimal environmental impact.

Legal psychoactive Cannabis allows for more than just recreational and medicinal use. Cannabis has an equally long, if not longer, history of use for divination, meditation, and magico-religious purposes, as an entheogen, as it does a narcotic. Even in western societies, as recent as the 1960s and 70s, Cannabis was part of the jazz, beat and psychedelic movements, used as a tool for introspection and expansion of consciousness. 
 
Over the last 30 years, we’ve seen a focus on Cannabis as more of a stupefacient and narcotic. This is not to say that devotees of traditional Cannabis haven’t been grumbling the entire time. Connoisseurs have been lamenting the loss of intellectually, and spiritually stimulating pot, in exchange for what was at first the infiltration of domestically grown indica, and what later became a genetically bottlenecked, poly-hybridized gene pool, high in THC, and possessing an dizzying array of flavors, but homogeneous in its ability to produce a bland, sedative effect, of limited utility to the artists, gifted academics, and spiritual sages who once embraced the species for its ability to enhance their intellectual and spiritual lives.

This gorgeous vigorous sativa is a true first generation landrace indica-to-landrace sativa hybrid. Hybrids of this sort were common in the early days of American Sinsemilla production but have since fallen out of flavor for faster-finishing plants. Because of its disparate parentage the plant is incredibly vigorous, and is one of the rare examples of a first generation hybrid that can compare favorably to both new school and old school definitions of quality. The effect is somewhat dissociative, helping to distract from the aches and pains of daily life. Simultaneously, it is energizing making it perfect for hiking and sports. Dread Bread is a truly elite strain that is nearly impossible to find commercially from anyone but Kiona.

We’re proud to work with JJNYC’s selected cutting of his Nigerian Silk x NL5/Haze. Nigerian Cannabis is well reputed for its “bell ringing” whiteout inducing effect, and fine examples of NL5/Haze don’t slouch either. Possessing a strongly African influenced phenotype, her high is completely in the head without the slightest inflection of a body high. The flowers are thin and somewhat small with a mix of herbal and grape odor and flavor. She is nearly ceilingless and of very high quality. It is one of the favorites of the farm and one of the most strongly energizing strains in our catalog. Cold-cured for 8 weeks, her exotic aroma is beckoning and complex. A must try for any sativa fan.

Nigerian Haze

Developed by GG Strains, Gorilla Glue #4 is a potent hybrid strain that delivers heavy-handed euphoria and relaxation. The resin on our Gorilla Glue flower is absolutely amazing, one of the greasiest strains we’ve ever grown. Its chunky, resin-covered buds fill the room with pungent, earthy, and sour aromas inherited from its parent strains: Chem’s Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel. You can smell the chocolate and taste the sour/chem notes instantly! Having won numerous awards in recent years, we’re not alone in admiring Gorilla Glue #4. Loompa's Headband

Old meets new in this special hybrid bred by Coastal Seeds out of Santa Cruz. As the name suggests, a late 70s-era Hawaiian “Puna Budder” sativa from the Big Island was crossed with the popular Girl Scout Cookies cut, renowned for its empowered calm. The result is an overall uplifting experience that dulcifies the body while invigorating the senses. This variety shares some of the more desirable traits with our Ol’ Mendo Hashplant but with a more sativa-leaning structure and effect. It produces flowers with purple highlights and a lemon funk fuel odor that carries well into its flavor. While the effect is fairly physical, Puna Butter Cookies offers a notably positive, clear head.

This plant sets itself apart from other indicas with its cerebral stimulation and euphoric rush. This strain is recommended for all levels of tokers looking for a balanced experience, as it offers powerful physical effects as well as an intense cerebral uplift. She stays true to her parent heritage with deep Afghani aromas and a thick, tongue-coating spice-flavored smoke. The flowers are frosty with a purple hue and reddish hairs. She has wonderful sweet, earthy, and berry flavors that will tickle your tongue every time.

Ol' Mendo Hashplant

We are very excited about this pure tropical narrow leafed offering. In the 1960’s travelling hippies and surfers from all over Australia convened to the city of Nimbin, creating the country’s counterculture mecca. With seeds found in imported flowers from Thailand and Papua New Guinea, and thanks to the humid subtropical climate of northeastern New South Wales, the locals developed the most legendary Cannabis ever to grow under the Australian sun, the Mullumbimby Madness. Named for its potent, highly cerebral effect, this highly sought after Australian heirloom has fallen to near extinction, giving way to modern cultivars. Simultaneously, in North America, many in the counterculture decided to follow Timothy Leary to Oaxaca, and participate in the ancient psilocybin using Curandero culture. This same culture in the mountains of Oaxaca, also grew a similarly benevolent yet psychedelic variety of Cannabis, known as the Highland Oaxaca Gold.

 

The marriage of these two rare long flowering tropicals results in flowers that never disappoints. Not lacking for sheer potency, and ability to go toe to toe in both ceiling and hit for hit potency against any contemporary variety, the flowers produce a delightful and positive, and highly energizing in their effect. The flavor and nose are sweet, herbaceous and floral, mostly leaning towards the South Pacific ancestry of the Mullumbimby Madness. This is not to be missed. As with many of our pure tropicals, they are rare anywhere in the world, but especially rare in Washington, since they don’t express their best potential indoors, yet their late trigger into flowering and extended flowering period make them incompatible with the latitude and climate of Washington state. It is only through a concerted effort, dedicated to the production real heirloom tropical Cannabis available that we’re able to make these available.

Canguru de Oaxaca

Collectively known as the New York hazes, which share both a high degree of genetic overlap, and a number of names, “Frankies”, “The Church”, “Piff”,  sometimes referencing how the burned flowers cause the room to smell of Frankincense, used in some Catholic masses. Their origin is somewhat of a mystery, but it is safe to say, they are all derivatives of the Northern Lights #5 X Haze hybrid developed in Holland in the 1980’s. Our “Uptown Piff” possesses all of the qualities that make a great NY Haze. With gorgeous resin spangled foxtails of calyxes, and an odd odor of band aids with a delicate floral syrup background, the Uptown Piff will be immediately recognized by those familiar with the best New York Hazes. This says nothing of the effect, which hits fast with an energizing euphoria. Our version is of very high quality compared to what most people think of, when they think of “Haze”, grown sustainable, and artisan cured, leaving behind the negative qualities which commercially produced hazes often possess.

Uptown Piff

The primary building block of the majority of the mainstream drug Cannabis gene pool, including foundational varieties like Skunk #1, Afghani #1 was developed in Santa Cruz in the 1970s by Sam the Skunkman and taken to Holland in the mid 1980s. Our Afghani is an exceptional cutting, testing very high in THC and distances itself slightly from the classic California indica profile with a higher calyx-to-leaf ratio and a substantially more citric odor and flavor profile. What it does keep however, is a deeply calming and sedative effect. Dedicated students of indica bloodlines often refer to ‘Afghanica’ when speaking of their favorites and as ‘hashplants’ when talking generally of the strains found across India, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Afghani #1

The Big Sur Holyweed is among the most significant American Cannabis heirlooms of the 20th century. Said to be developed by a Buddhist monk named Perry in Big Sur, CA during the early 1960’s from Mexican and Afghan imports. It is the oldest known indica sativa hybrid from America. Our Big Sur Hippie weed, known in some California circles as the DS, goes back equally far but is the Holyweed backcrossed to its Afghan parent. It still displays a good portion of its sativa parentage, flowering for approximately 12 weeks and gifting the user with a life affirming high with positive enhancement to one’s outlook. The odor is sweet and thick but still remaining in the herbaceous spectrum of a tropical narrow leafed variety. The high is a particularly good choice for audiophiles and musicians.

Big Sur Hippie Weed

Collected from a family in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta Mountains along the Caribbean coast, these heirloom crops are watered entirely by hand and grown using sustainable, noncommercial methods. These high-quality plants are derived from two lines, including an ancestral Colombian Highland Gold strain which reflects the traits of the original Santa Marta Golds that pre-date Colombia’s export market. The other line, simply referred to as La Mota, central American Spanish for “The Flower”. It is a selection made for magico-religious purposes by Arhuaco healers from a miniscule and extremely desirable portion of wild plants that existed in the region many generations ago. This population is thought to be ancestral to the vast majority of the Caribbean, Central and South American drug cultivars. The pure purple and purple gold types exhibit traits that lean heavily toward The Mota, and are a significant departure from the export-grade Cannabis produced by Colombia from 1972 to present day.

Santa Marta Purple

The superior, more elusive sister of “The White,” Triangle Kush is a classic OG type originally grown in Florida. Popularized as OG Kush when it emerged in the 90s, the precise ancestry of this hybrid line remains shrouded in mystery. The “Triangle” phenotype, named after Florida’s three cannabis-producing capitals, is hailed by many aficionados as the most desirable example of perhaps the most popular hybrid of the 21st century. One of the few contemporary varieties in our catalog, Triangle earns its place with a powerful combination of calm mood-enhancement and strong creative and social stimulation effects. Its perfume and flavor are thick and funky, with strong notes of diesel fuel, pine and lemon.

Blockhead is one of a few varieties we sell derived from the work of Breeder Steve at Spice of Life seeds, and we consider it his best work. The Blockhead’s mother, known as “Project 19” is somewhat mysterious, commonly thought to be a inbred stabilized hybrid partially derived from an unknown African variety. Her father is a Sweet Tooth #3, a cubed backcross derived from the British Columbia Sweet Pink Grapefruit, thought to be a selected Northern Lights cutting, and DJ Short’s highly regarded Blueberry. She is known for producing afghanica structured flowers on a tropical structured plant, possessing a high with a similarly unusual mix of wide and narrow leafed qualities. An unusual plant with seductive attractive floral and resin structures, with a high that’s all her own. The effects combine the potent and disorienting qualities of equatorial Africans with the couchlock qualities of her wide leafed ancestors. The olfactory qualities have a base of grape candy with overtones of hash, meyer lemon, and cat urine.

Blockhead

Described as the pinnacle of all Northern Lights breeding at the time of its release, The Seedbank’s 1989 “Northern Lights 5 X 2″ possesses the physical characteristics of pure indica while producing a paradoxical high that is mentally racy but physically sedate. Our Gin Blossom Northern Lights retains these original traits with the classic juniper berry nose and flavor. Her background is somewhat shrouded in mystery with origins said to be from a wide leafed Afghan or Pakistani and a narrow leafed Thai, Philippine, or Durban Poison, depending on who you ask. Bred in the Pacific Northwest, we are proud to introduce this crucial building block in a form very close to what it was in the mid 1980’s. Our selected plants exhibit some variegation with bright golden streaks in some floral clusters. This is a normal expression of these plants caused by a mutation in the chlorophyll producing cellular organs. Particularly lucky purchasers will find flowers with both purpling and variegation resulting in pink streaks in the flowers. There’s a lot of farms growing northern lights but as best as we can tell ours is the closest to this 1980’s classic.

Vintage Northern Lights

Our seed trials for Corinto Budder in 2016 yielded two strong phenotypes.  The Purple Corinto takes after her Colombian coastal parent, a rare purple landrace sativa, with subdued Hawaiian Puna Budder traits.  Purple Corinto’s easy-riding euphoria is shifted toward creativity, sociability and motivation along with subtler psychedelic mood enhancement and body effects.  The aroma of these artisanally cured flowers is as exotic as everything else about them, with a captivating effervescence of honeydew melon, herbaceous eucalyptus and alkaline desert soil.  Purple Corinto makes an excellent daytime smoke, with medium duration uplift that fades without undue tiredness.
