You’ve heard the expression “Diamond in the Rough”. This is a well suited description for Fox Street Wellness. Located in the mousetrap of I25 and I70 in an industrial area off of 48th and Pecos, near Quality Inn and Village inn. Marked with only the building number 4773, it took me a few minutes to find, as there were no green crosses or flashy signs on the exterior. I was kind of hesitant in coming here but any doubts I had were quickly dispelled upon entering the building. I was quickly greeted by the manager, Dylan. The lobby of Fox Street Wellness was very warming and welcoming with stylish lighting and colors. The store’s layout is neat and organized. After filling out the required paperwork and being checked in, I was ushered to the Bud-bar. Offering around ten strains to choose from -including BHO waxes, Bubble Hash, and several edibles- all competitively priced. I was impressed with the bud that was on the shelves here. Defiantly some of the best looking buds in the entire state of Colorado. Dylan explained that everything is hand watered, hand trimmed and properly cured. He showed me the current featured ‘Top-shelf-special’; “Strawberry Cough”. This strain has huge buds bursting with pink, orange, and white hairs giving off the aroma of strawberries. My curiosity peaked- I proceeded to examine each jar they had. It was really hard to make my selection but I finally settled on the PRE 98 Bubba Kush, Lambsbread, Sweet Durban Kush, and East Coast Sour Diesel. Also picked up a Strawberry cough wax, Blue Dawg wax, and Flo Diesel Shatter Wax. *First time customers and members pricing (25/40 and eighth 150/250 ounces) a 15$ eighth with the purchase of an eighth. Here’s the verdict on each strain I sampled: Pre 98 Bubba Kush- A Large, beautiful bud, with a dense consistency. Green in color with purple hues, it had an intoxicating scent. A great high that alleviated every bit of pain and stress. Lambsbread- I can see why Bob Marley loved this strain so much. Bright Green, Huge dense buds, completely covered in resin, very uplifting and euphoric high! Sweet Durban Kush- Definitely a treat! The familiar Durban Poison Smell and appearance mixed with a bright and clean sweet Kush smell. The taste was very smooth, gave me the munchies for sure and another great euphoric high. East Coast Sour Diesel- The most pungent smelling of them all, a bud the size of my fist, with that true sour diesel smell. It proves itself a great smoke all day long. This one is uplifting and gives you a very “high” feeling. Strawberry Cough Wax- Hands down, this is the smoothest wax I have ever smoked through my bong. It was the perfect sativa to start my day and keep me going! Smooth glazed consistency. Blue Dawg Wax- (Chemdawg x Blue Dream) Very spicy full flavored wax. I could get the Chem flavor crossed with a very fruity after taste. I noticed the smoke rapidly expanded and immanently gave me an indica type high. Perfect bud to end my day with. Flo Diesel Shatter Wax- A full malleable piece of full melt hash I could top my bowl with, instead of carrying a torch and bong around everywhere. DJ Shorts Flo taste is defiantly there along with a sour- diesel pungent taste all blended together. I can easily say this is one of the best dispensaries I have found in the state.
