UW Purple

2/29/2016
UW is one of the finest, damn near pure indicas available, and without a doubt my favorite genetically "purple" strain (I say genetically to distinguish between strains that assume a purple coloration naturally as part of their genetics and those that are only compelled to purple through a "cold shock" during growth). UW has the same flowery, rose-like odor and flavor characteristic of other big purple strains (e.g. GDP, Purple Urkel, God's Gift, etc.) but complements it with a huge bouquet of pungent-yet-sweet berry and earth flavors. It's something you have you experience to fully appreciate and its a big part of why this strain is most definitely a 5-star strain. The other part, of course, is the high. UW knocks you flat with a warm, all-encompassing, deeply narcotic stone that will take the edge off of anything. Pain, stress, anything....and for my money there is just no better treatment for insomnia than this strain. If you ever come across it, get as much as you can because this is top shelf recreation and medicine.

Golden Pineapple

2/22/2016
Golden Pineapple is a lovely sativa-dominant hybrid that will have you salivating upon first whiff of its enticing, tropical aroma that distinctly resembles pineapple and carries on into the flavor as well. Few strains achieve an odor this unique and tasty, and its part of what makes Golden Pineapple a 5-star strain. The other factor of course, is the high; this sativa isn't so much psychedelic like I usually prefer my sativas but gives a really euphoric, energetic boost that is complemented by a relaxing but not sedating body high. I find it useful for any ailment as well. Definitely get your hands on some of this.

Blue Cinex

2/13/2016
Blue Cinex is an 80/20 sativa-dominant hybrid bred by The Clone Zone based in Washington; as you have probably guessed, it's a cross of Blue Dream x Cinex. The idea to cross the two is genius in my opinion and the result does not disappoint. The strain has a uniquely sweet smell of melon that becomes overtaken by that familiar, piney Cinex smell when you break a nug open. Since its parents are both excellent sativas with similar highs but completely different yet completely amazing aroma/flavor profiles, this strain ends up being a perfect combination of the both. It is psychedelic like both parents but with a more relaxing body high and tends to lean closer to Cinex. Another neat characteristic is that it flowers in only 56 days, despite being a perfect sativa which often require significantly longer flowering-times, so it makes it more accessible for growers. Get this strain however and whenever you can.

Ogre

2/8/2016
Ogre is a mind-melting awesome cross of two of the best kushes (Master Kush and my all-time favorite, Bubba Kush) and it certainly looks like it. The smell is quite unique, with a strong smell of lemon, leaving the traditional piney Kush smell just in the background. What makes this strain truly great is not just its genetics and aroma/flavor profile, but it's high. The potent body and mind high could be adequately described as a "sit down, shut up, and enjoy it"-type of high as its effects are extremely Indica-heavy and while it can enhance any activity and alleviate nearly any ailment, there has just never been a better strain for insomnia. Its sedative effects are truly something to be respected and not something to treat with a careless attitude. Overall, this strain is fantastic and if you're an indica-lover you cannot go wrong with Ogre (also called 12th Man Down in WA).

Exodus Cheese

2/6/2016
Leafly should update their info on this strain as it's not the original Cheese, but it's definitely one of the best and if you love Cheese strains like I do, you'll love this as its one of my favorite Cheese strains, second only to Blue Cheese. The smell is sweet, dark, pungent, and extremely attractive in general, resembling but not quite equaling that of the holy Blue Cheese. Aside from that, this is pretty much Cheese and if you know that strain, you know this one. Pick it up if you can.

Abusive OG

1/31/2016
I'll admit I'm somewhat biased when it comes to OG Kush and its many, often mediocre and unremarkable variants because I feel them to be overrated due in part to my inability to see why OG is a huge, never-ending trend in major US cannabis markets while superior Kush strains are extremely prevalent. However, after so many attempts on my part to find a truly great OG that lives up to its popularity, I think I have finally stumbled upon one such strain in the form of Abusive OG. Abusive's supremely relaxing body stone and high potency distinguishes it from the rest of its counterparts and makes it easily my favorite OG.

Bubbleberry

1/26/2016
This wonderful, absolutely perfect hybrid of its parent strains IBlueberry crossed with Bubblegum) results in a probably slightly indica-dominant, uninhibited body-and-mind euphoria; definitely a new favorite for me (and that's so uncommon these days). It has a primarily sweet yet somewhat earthy taste that also features a little pine. However, the awesome high and flavor of Bubbleberry downright pale in comparison to its absolutely divine aroma that I can only describe as the sweetest-smelling thing in the universe. I personally never see this strain at all, so if you find it, know that it's a must-have, must-smoke treat.

Orange Crush

1/17/2016
Leafly should re-evaluate their description of this strain, particularly the assertion that it is sativa-dominant, as the parents and the high would seem to suggest something closer to about a 60/40 indica-dominant hybrid. Either way, it does have really strong cerebral and psychedelic effects that are more common to sativas, complementing the thoroughly relaxing, warm 'n' fuzzy body high, which lasts an exceptionally long time. As for the smell, the strain lives up to its name and smells strongly and distinctly of oranges, with some earthy and citrus notes as well. The taste is like a not-too-strong orange/lime, but what really makes it unique is that on the exhale the flavor turns to strong pine, like if you could taste how a Christmas tree smells. Orange Crush is a treat to smoke for its high and its flavor, and is useful for most ailments alleviated by cannabis.

Bubba Kush

1/15/2016
Bubba Kush is without a doubt my favorite strain and easily the best Kush strain out there. Its flowers are some of the most picturesque of any strain with its burnt-orange-to-red pistils and and foresty green calyxes. The high is one of the best indica experiences you could ask for, and even has more than satisfactory sativa effects. Another area this strain excels in is its aroma and flavor profile, which takes the typical kush earthy coffee/pungent pine smell further than you can imagine, and adds some sweet undertones to round out the profile. It happens to taste exactly like it smells as well, which is fantastic. A well-grown Bubba Kush is a highly resinous treat and I always savor the experience.
