LA Woman

I am a relatively new medical cannabis user. I have anxiety, insomnia due to PTSD. I also have moderate occasional pain from arthritis. A little additional background if it helps: sativas or sativa dominant hybrids can give me massive anxiety....to the point of having heart-pounding anxiety and blood pressure issues. Too much indica can push me into heightened self-doubt and depression. Keep in mind that I am a working, senior level person during the day. At night, I am unable to turn down the internal drive. I like to enjoy something that will calm me down in the evening before I even think about heading to bed, and don’t frequently care to drink.
LA Woman is a good go-to for me, because the strain is quite relaxing without muddling my head to badly. I can enjoy a book or a movie after I have imbibed, and track well. (Once I use my 9lb hammer, 30 minutes before planned sleep, I don’t do anything but close my eyes.)
It is surprising that this is an indica leaning hybrid. It is a very relaxing, easy experience. I start slow—always. Two hits on a pre-roll is usually sufficient for comfortable results. For me, this one requires three.
At that point, arthritis pain diminishes. I can feel a decrease in anxiety without any of the negative indica side effects. Definitely no sativa angst.
As another reviewer noted, the noticeable effects don’t last very long, though the helpful benefits to the body seem to stick around for longer than the comfortable (but very manageable) head buzz.
For me, I generally appreciate the assistance cannabis provides with anxiety which typically lasts into the next morning. Unfortunately, this one does NOT seem to help by providing protracted anxiety-reducing benefits the next day as many strains can. Also, many other strains seem to provide much stronger, longer head buzz experiences. This one is far gentler in that regard. If that is a preference, understand that this may be lighter and you may want to plan on an extra hit or two. Titrate up carefully though. It can creep up a little.
I hope this is helpful to you.
