Granola Funk

6/29/2019
I always tell myself it isn’t a great idea to wake and bake something I’m not super familiar with, but the smell hit the spot and it’s Saturday. So why not? And Now I’m writing a very long Leafly review. Appearance: I went with a really nice fluffy creamy very light turmeric crumble. The flower examples I’ve seen are fat, milky bulbous trichomes with buds in a prism of colors from pine green to violet/Indigo to deep purple all kinda mixed up and capped with a deep burnt orange Colorado sunset. Smell: The example I used here and have seen/smelled don’t come across as granola to me. To me granola is indicative of honey and spice flavors, while there is a certain honey quality here harking back to the Hawaiian genetics. To me it comes across more like a violet mint, lavender and hibiscus lemon bar with a creamy chemy fuel funk frosting. The chem/fuel/funk part stands out, not in an overpowering way but it’s fairly unique. Taste: I used a ceramic vape on low and medium heat. Surprisingly smooth, with a sweet doughy yet refreshing mouthfeel, very flowery with some tart lemon and grapefruit notes. Finishing with a mild sweeter fuel and chem on the exhale. High: Now this is the part that got me, just going off of appearance and smell it wasn’t what I was expecting. If you like really dynamic highs this is a good fit. If you like focused and clearer highs or have anxiety I can’t say I’d recommend it. It is a very hybrid high, almost contradictory at times. Immediately there’s a certain giggly relaxed but awake haze, This quickly transitions into a racy speedy high, the kind where you need to do something that doesn’t require a lot of thought like clean or hike or work out. Finally transitioning into a pretty heady yet narcotic kinda high. I don’t think I would use this as a weekday daytime Strain, but if it’s the weekend and you’re in the mountains or on the beach or just lounging around the house it would work. For night time use I would probably do this one closer to the end of the night when you need a bit of a perk before calling it a night.

Hercules

I wish they would make it where you could reply to reviews. I saw one that said their friend lost it on this became extremely paranoid and violent. This isn’t a strain issue this is a dose issue. That said I’ve seen a couple phenos of this guy. The first and I think most prominent is a heavy sativa that’s fruity with a good dash of earth. High is mellow and care free. This is where the Hawaiian genetics really shine through. The next is a more earthy fermented fruit kinda thing, hazy and bit racy for my tastes. The final is more fuel earth focused profile and very racy, high energy kinda thing I don’t find pleasant. All around still solid but would watch dosing to begin as you should with any new product.

Kushage

A well balanced body heavy, but uplifting kush style strain. The visual is a beautiful lime green slight is The aroma for me presents as a very pungent kush sour gum that feels up your senses, followed by a herbal earth sandlewood with sharp pine citrus overtone that cuts straight through. Taste is gummy sour kush with a strong woodsy overtone on the inhale and rather herbal spicey with hint of sour on the exhale. The high is a relaxed yet uplifting and somewhat sensual? In the body and social and jovial headbuzz. A really great and fascinating Strain worth trying. I will definitely be adding this as a new staple strain.

Strawberry Blonde

Very fascinating fruity sativa. Immediately you’re struck with a strawberry and hint of fermented cherries on the smell. Taste is mainly strawberry and and a cherry Kush vaguely sour sweet kinda thing. The high for me is psychedelic and energizing while retaining some introspection. I feel that there is something slightly missing, something a little ‘empty’ in the high, this is a personal preference for me and I still highly recommend this going out with a SO, doing chores, hiking etc... the psychedelic aspect can make this a bit of a scattered high that for me isn’t best for working but some may see benefit here.

Sage and Sour

9/7/2018
One of my favorites. There’s a real diversity of flavor that pops in this strain. The first is a dominate sage/earthy spice one. The second is a diesel/sage and the 3rd is a more sour oriented with hints of sage( this is my favorite and what I’m currently using). But it’s all delicious. For me the high can range from a speedier more spicy tropical sativa, this one is cerebral, vocal and engaging. To a more relaxed hybrid leaning high that is an well balanced creative kind of thing.

Maggie's Farm - Pueblo North

Me and my wife have been coming to this location at least once weekly since shortly after their soft open. We love Maggie’s, but manitou prices are hard to swallow and Pueblo east and west are a drive. By far my new favorite dispensary. The experience is Excellent . If you’re in the springs and need rec this is where to go. The atmosphere, staff, products is all just phenomenal. To me it’s an excellent representation of the new elevated cannabis culture that’s been emerging post legalization. It will be amazing to see when they have the inn, vape room etc.. all finished.
