Cannabist - Lowell (Medical)
3/23/2019
As a long time customer (as old as some of your most senior staff), I would hope that this appraisal of the Lowell Patriot Care facility will not fall on deaf ears. In my past few visits, since going recreational, I have felt an almost palpable change of mood in the building. The staff, though performing like the well-oiled machine that they are, are clearly struggling with the drastically increased workload without infrastructure to support them. The sheer volume of recreational clients is staggering and the professionalism shown each and every day by the staff is nothing short of incredible. They are working their bottoms off, and I have no doubt, are not being paid enough, nor given proper recuperation time to appropriately deal with the stresses of the increased workloads crammed into an already busy work day.
All this to say nothing of the compromises made to the medicinal patients.
Since going recreational, while there has certainly been no shortage of product made available across the board, the staff have clearly been directed to deal with the large volume of recreational clients (which the facility is not equipped to deal with in my humble opinion) before the medical patients, exemplified by the multiple days when there were fewer tellers operating on the medical side than recreational, and the three or four queues worth of rec patients to the one line for medical on the sales floor. Say good-bye to quiet and any semblance of privacy. Thanks. Yes, I understand the line is long, but that doesn’t mean I need to wait 15-20 minutes in queue, with 1 person in front of me, even with making a pick-up order on the internet beforehand. All the while, three or four tellers were turning over rec. clients by the minute, and the noise, it’s highly anxiety enducing and discomforting. I am 1,000,000% in favor of recreational access, but I would also appreciate PC doing what they actually said they would do and prioritize the medical patients over recreational.
Basically, I love the staff, they are doing the very best job they can considering the situation. They deserve better pay, time off, something VERY special for all their continued hard work and effort. I sincerely hope this reaches the right people further up the chain-o-command with the power to do right by the incredible staff that call Patriot Care Lowell home.
Respectfully,
