April in Montana—the snow melts away, the days get long and the frenetic energy of summer begins to set in. Tempted as you may be to spend all your time frolicking in the woods and diving into spring cleaning, you still gotta chill TF out sometime. And then, on those cool starry nights, you can’t go wrong with Blue Lights from Greenhouse Farmacy.
First and foremost, hats off to Missoula’s Greenhouse for creating one of the warmest, most inviting cannabis shopping experiences in the Treasure State. Big, playful art fills the walls; flowers sit in vases on the counter; a huge multi-colored rug adds a lot of cheer. The shop’s knowledgeable staff—after giving my pup a generous helping of treats—directed me towards the indica-dominant Blue Lights. The gloriously dense behemoth of nugs, resplendent with long orange hairs, immediately caught my eye.
Greenhouse’s cut of Blue Lights was grown by in-house cultivator PJ and his PJ’s Garden series. While Leafly notes that Blue Lights typically comes from a cross of Blueberry and Northern Lights, PJ’s version utilizes Blue Dream instead of Blueberry (the mother strain of Blue Dream, didn’tcha know!).
Be that as it may, this terp-rich cut of Blue Lights screams blueberry. Its hyperbolically fruity aroma leaps out of the tin; pungent, loud and downright mouthwatering. And while Blue Lights offers the warm and sedative effects of a classic indica, it offers an unexpected and gentle tickle of a cerebral buzz, too. The high was a bit more clear-headed than I anticipated, and it vacuumed a good deal of tension out of my shoulders and feet. The bud proved to be a tad drier than desired, and the tin proved a tad hard to open; otherwise, Blue Lights is a knock-out; oozing with flavor and blissfully soothing.
Greenhouse Farmacy also sells its flower at Flathead Lake Herb Dispensary in Polson and Wild Sky Farms in Glasgow.
